HOW IT WORKS

Carcoon’s unique "active airflow" system (worldwide patent), comprises of two air treatment units which operate continuously to provide super-atmospheric, circulating airflow for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Importantly, the circulating air is taken from inside the storage unit itself, which effectively isolates the flow of air from the outside environment. Carcoon Automotive Storage Units are affordable, with a low running cost of approximately 6 cents per day.

Our patented portable workstation was designed for the busy body shop looking for a location to complete smaller repairs without taking up time or space in a busy paint booth. It also serves well as a prep and primer station. The portable workstation has made a tremendous impact on the smaller shop that can't afford a paint booth or doesn't have the room.

The new portable Workstation is specifically designed to meet new and proposed legislation introduced to protect the environment from damaging emissions. In particular, emissions from traditional materials commonly used in the repair of motor vehicles, such as paints- solvents- cleaners-fillers etc. The new Workstation is effectively a fully functioning portable paint booth, using a three thousand six hundred CFM air supply unit and industry standard filter media both on the input and exhaust. In fact, these are the very same input and exhaust filters used in the more conventional paint booths and ovens used in the motor trade, in this case with the addition of Activated Carbon filters on final exhaust. This all-new concept uses a super atmospheric chamber, providing outstanding functionality and ventilating airflow throughout the system.

Chamber number one provides easy personnel airlock access whilst importantly protecting the main work area/chamber from outside contamination and further protecting the ambient environment from contamination from within the work chamber. This unique airlock arrangement also protects the inner face of the large input filters, keeping them well protected within the chamber, regardless of weather and ambient conditions. Two chambers at the extraction end of the Workstation protect and maximize the massive exhaust filters whilst providing unrestricted airflow throughout the working environment. These chambers are designed to maximize collection of airborne particulate including paint, dust, etc. before finally flowing through activated carbon filters and returning back to the atmosphere. This unrestricted filter arrangement provides a large open face on both sides of the filter for maximum filter efficiency and ventilating airflow throughout the entire unit.

These high performance filters lie well protected within the chambers, meaning the unit can be used regardless of the weather. Rain or shine, you remain cocooned within the chamber. The system is designed to provide the best working conditions for the SMART repairer whilst importantly protecting both the health and safety of the operative and most importantly protecting the environment for future generations. The entire system is powered using two small all-weather 110 volt air supply units. Initial setup takes no more than ten minutes and provides the ideal working environment for all small to medium sized paint jobs.

Of course the Workstation is also ideal for windscreen replacement, advertising wraps and vinyl sticker application, and much more. These units make fantastic billboards and can be printed with almost anything from company logos to company names, brands or messages, etc. This provides you with a cost effective way to promote your business and earn money at the same time. Our latest Medium size drive-in Workstation features a massive 179 sq ft of filter area. The total paint arrest filter area is 115.99sq ft (four filters). Two carbon filters add an additional 25.82sq ft helping to eliminate odors from the Workstation. The two massive input filters combine for another 41.53 sq ft. These assist in providing a clean and dirt free paint job, saving many hours of buffing and polishing whilst showing an immediate return in man hours per job. Another major benefit of the Carcoon Workstation is the ability to work on much larger jobs as the vehicle is protected from the outside elements.
